System Requirement and Capabilities

Q: What are the system requirements of the EZBalance Baseball lineup software?
A: EZBalance Lineup Software is a a Microsoft Excel based spreadsheet.  You will need a PC with Microsoft Excel 2003 or newer.  Note:  EZBalance is not currently compatible with OPEN OFFICE (the Linux based competitor to Microsoft office), or with Google Doc's spreadsheet package, and does not run on the Mac version of Office.

Q: How many innings does the spreadsheet handle?
A: EZBalance Lineup Software can handle up to nine innings.

Q: How many players does the spreadsheet handle?
A: EZBalance Lineup Software can handle up to 18 players.

Q: Can system manage playing time over the course of the whole season, or over the course of a multi-game tournament?
A: EZBalance Lineup Software manages playing time on a game by game basis.  It does not attempt to manage or plan playing time over the course of a tournament or a whole season.  If you wanted to keep track of playing time for the whole season, you could save the lineups for each game under a separate file name, however, summarizing such information would have to be done outside of the software.

Macros, Security Warnings and Error Messages

Q: When I open the file, I get the following security warning dialog box. What should I do?

A: Click "Enable Macros".  This will allow the various print macros to work.

Q: When I open the file, I get the following security warning dialog box. What should I do?

A: You may encounter this error for the following reasons: Macro security is set to: Very High or High.  Use the following procedure to enable the macro: Select the Tools menu option and then select Macro and Security. In the resulting Security dialog, set the security level to Medium by clicking the Medium radio button. Close the file and any other instances of the application currently running on the computer (close all applications that also use the application you are currently running). Open the file again and click the Enable button to allow the macro to run.

Q: Is there an easier way to complete the fielding chart? It would be a nice feature to be able to cut and paste positions vs. fill out a position for each kid individually for every inning. Chances are you will put kids in the same position for multiple innings.

A: There is an easy way to do that. Just highlight the range in the inning column you want to copy from, click "Edit" then "Copy" from the Excel menu, next highlight the area (or top cell) of the range you want to copy to then click "Edit" then "Paste" from the Excel menu.
